UNIVERSITY ST. AUGUSTINE’S
VISION STATEMENT
The University of St. Augustine’s (USA) is a Historically Black College University (HBCU) that has been designated as a “Land Grant College”.
Established in 1936, USA is an Institution of Higher Education, founded as a response to the repercussions of the legacy of slavery. Organized in the spirit of educating Black Americans, and the descendants of former slaves.
The USA Governance was empowered to reorganize as a Historical Black College and University (HBCU) in compliance with a U.S. Federal District Court Order dated January 9, 1985. Our academic program offerings are accredited in compliance with regulatory specifications.
As a student-centered research university commissioned by the Episcopal Church of Philadelphia, the University St. Augustine’s (USA) is committed to fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access for all students.
Our mission is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness while upholding justice, intellectual openness, and the common good. We believe in preparing our students for life opportunities to impact communities, guided by the Holy Spirit.
